There is a list of thing you should NOT forget to pack and have on hand when you leave the cruise ship for shore excursion:
Passport : If you are going to leave your country on a cruise you must have a valid passport or an identification card.
Insurance: If you are planning on renting a car on port of call, you must have proof of automobile driver license and car insurance to make the rent process easier.
Watch: When you are on a cruise you can travel to places on different time zones so its necessary to be on track if what time it is. When you are on shore excursions you have to be back on time when cruise leave the port of call so a watch is a must in this case. It is better if you have a multi time-zone watch.
Clothes: If you are planning to go on a cruise but you Don’t know what clothes to pack on your luggage here is my advice. Think about all the kinds of activities you are planning to join on a cruise. If you are planning to join formal events make sure you have some of your best outfits on your luggage. Evenings at sea can be a little freezing so don’t forget to pack some clothes to use at evenings on cruise deck. Also make sure to have the clothes you need for spending time at the pool side or excursion. You can buy clothes from cruise ship boutique but it can cost you and arm and a leg.
Other Things To Consider during your cruise packing.
Camera: If you want to take a lot of photos of your cruise vacation, make sure to pack a regular digital camera with extra memory cards. For even fun memories and to capture your cruise moments on video you can take a camcorder.
Book: Find a great book that you would like to read at the poolside, also don’t forget reading glasses if you need them.
First-aid kit: If you are planning to join risky activities you should be prepared for whatever may go wrong.
Remember that before packing make a list of all things you think that can be necessary on cruise. After that take a review on them and decide what to pack. As you are packing, remember that you do not need everything in your home to be with you and there are many things that you also can find on cruise ship, for example hairdryer.
