Being prepared for everything allows you to enjoy your European cruise without restrictions or disappointments. Before two months to your departure you should renew or apply for your passport. You should check the materials for any travel Visas that may be required for ports of call.

You should make a photocopy of your itinerary and contact information for a friend or family member, so that you can easily be reached in case of an emergency.In case of theft, make two photocopies of all of your identification and the front and back of your credit cards. Leave one copy at home and store the second copy in your cabin’s safe, or in the ship’s safe.
You should learn some of the local customs at the ports of call on your itinerary. You can learn more about each port on the Internet, or ask the cruise ship to provide you with information. While onboard, you can also ask a crew member
When packing for your European cruise, be aware of any luggage size or quantity rules, which should be detailed in your cruise materials. Here is a list of the basics to pack for any European cruise:
• Current passport
• Visas, if needed at ports of call
• Cruise materials, including customs form, tickets and luggage tags
• Photo ID
• Cash for drinks, taxi and shore excursion expenses
• Credit cards for settling your ship tab, including spa treatments, some store purchases and even tipping
• Some local currency for each port
• Climate appropriate clothing
• Formal clothing for at least three evenings
• Appropriate clothing for houses of worship, such as long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and scarves for women to cover their heads.
• Sunglasses and sunscreen
• Emergency contact information and a copy of your living will
• Comfortable shoes for walking
• Language dictionary to speak a few words to locals
